What is eczema?

Eczema is a chronic and common condition. And there is no cure. Almost 18 million adults and children in the United States live with eczema. Genetic factors are one cause of eczema. If you have a parent with asthma, hay fever, or eczema, you may be more likely to develop eczema.

Eczema often appears as a rough, red skin rash, and is often accompanied by oozing, crusted bumps. Eczema can happen almost anywhere on the skin. It may also look different on different people.

Symptoms include:

Redness or other discoloration, thick, hard, “leathery” patches, patchy, red skin rash, open, crusted, or “weepy-looking” sores.

My youngest daughter Summer Rose was diagnosed with skin eczema when she was two years old. Often times, she would scratch until skin bruised her skin. Eventually, we took her to the doctor and she was prescribed a steroid ointment for times when her skin was really bad.

As a paranoid mother I thought of the side effects of the steroid ointment on my toddler’s skin and it did not sit well with me. Immediately I started doing extensive research on natural remedies to cure my toddler’s eczema outbreak.

At that time is when I started researching, the skin issues and came up with a natural organic way to help my 2 year old. One year later she had perfect skin and when the doctor asked if I needed another 1 year prescription. I told her no I have not been using it, I told her about the combination of shea and Coca butter with glycerine and oils I have been using on her skin.

After checking her skin the doctor said, keep doing what you are doing , bring her back if she has a break out and you need a prescription. It has been 9 years of me creating the very body butter fir her skin and I still have not needed another prescription. Doing the time of convid I finally decided to launch ColeFacts body butter, the same recipe that have helped keep my children’s skin moisturize and eczema free over the years. In addition to the body butter I have added a sugar body scrub and soy essential oil scented candles to the collection. After your sugar scrub bath, lock your moisture in with our body butter, then light your candle and relax into your evening.. maybe with a good book in hand.
